Chemistry

Looking back at the past six months, I guess they were the toughest in the history of Diskonnekted.
After leaving the safe zone of working on my own, clashing opinions and bashing characters were introduced to the game.
Sometimes frustrating, but often enlightening as well. As new boundaries have been broken, new territories have been discovered and cool new tracks have been made only because of the explosive but inspiring chemistry of different souls.
Knowing that we had made some very cool new stuff heavily increased the tension in the band during the last days before the Paulusfeesten.
But we finally had a blast playing the new songs out loud for a big audience.
Now I can’t wait to assemble everything into final album tracks. I guess that quest starts here.
The story continues… stay ‘konnekted’!

Tough ride

From smooth, to chaotic and dramatic, back to smooth again.
The rehearsals are a tough ride.
We’re sure the Paulusfeesten will be absolutely fun!
See you there!

Slightly mad

I’ve been so busy with a bunch of things that I had the feeling I was slightly going mad. But it felt comfortable to see the people around me acting more or less crazy as well. For example Schidde. He went on a 10 day sunny vacation to Malta and now thinks that his future lies over there. And then Christophe, who’s becoming a father next month, is losing it too. He shaved off his hair and thus dramatically decreased the amount of hair in Diskonnekted. Finally, because Didier is moving house with his girlfriend into a new apartment, his craziness is, as Agent Smith would say: inevitable.
Why am I going mad? After revamping the old Mildreda as a side project, I had to take care of the first official gig for the Gothic Festival (last week). It went very smooth (featuring Gwenny on keys and Mika from This Morn’ Omina on percussion). Check Mildreda on Facebook, Myspace or Blogspot.
Now that I survived that trip, I am able to concentrate fully on Diskonnekted. Rehearsals start this evening for the gig at the Paulusfeesten. We will play a lot of the new stuff and I am really excited about that. I am sure we will post some videos of the rehearsals soon.

Same stuff as on Soundcoud, but now you see us working in the studio and what’s more: ‘Schidde’ shows us his new tattoo...

Demo preview

Here you are, some demo snippets.
We've been working very hard on new songs and sounds.
What you get here are some rough studio sessions recorded during rehearsals.
Uncut, unmixed and unmastered. Things were recorded in a rush while the inspiration was burning.
Let this be a little preview of the forthcoming album "Hotel Existence".

Diskonnekted @ Paulusfeesten!

We are thrilled to announce that Diskonnekted will be playing at the Paulusfeesten in Oostende this summer!

August 11th, 2010 - 21:15 - Main stage

If every Belgian city has its own major summer event, the Paulusfeesten is definitely the main and most important event of the year here in Oostende (probably even the biggest and greatest festival at the Belgian seaside).

Diskonnekted plays during the opening night on August 11th, 2010 at 21:15 on the main stage.
Daan will be headlining that night.
