Announcing the forthcoming Yesteryears EP

We are excited to announce a forthcoming club EP with some extraordinary remixes. Main theme is the track ‘Yesteryears’ from our current album ‘Hotel Existence’. ‘Yesteryears’ was originally introduced on Septic X by Dependent Records.

We are proud both Neuroticfish and Edge of Dawn made astonishing club versions. We made a new club edit ourselves, and we’re happy to introduce the new solo project by our keyboard player, Liquid Newt, showcasing his promising skills with a remix.

This Morn' Omina joins the impressive tracklist with a remix for our track ‘Tunnel Vision’, while Halo In Reverse re-imagined the landscape of our ‘Neverland’. And then there’s that new club edit of ‘Empty’ and the heavy beat re-interpretation of the old ‘Personal Demon’.

We’re still working on a final tracklist, but we hope you are thrilled already. Out this fall on Alfa Matrix. Visual artist Ishoothorizon, who shot the cover picture, will join us again for a new video.

Beat Magazine (D) Remix & Mashup special

Those of you speaking German should check out the current edition of Beat Magazine covering all there is to know about remixes and mashups. Diskonnekted is featured twice in two elaborate ‘how to’ articles taking you step by step through the world of remixing and mashups. Both the remix and the mashup are included on the DVD accompanying the magazine.

First, there’s our track ‘Empty’ being mixed together with ‘Kites’ by the German electro project Strobotone. You can read in Beat Magazine how they mashed things up. And then there’s the remix: Edge of Dawn rearranged ‘Yesteryears’ for this special occasion. How about that! The result is catchy as hell and will be featured on a forthcoming EP after summer. (A new EP? Yes that’s right, but hush hush, more about that soon!)

My ode to ‘Mr. Nobody’ by Jaco Van Dormael.

I’ve always been very intrigued by quantum mechanics and its philosophical implications. Is there another world where I made different choices? Better choices perhaps? Are there other versions of myself in parallel universes?

‘Mr. Nobody’ is a beautiful movie by Belgian director Jaco Van Dormael dealing with these questions. It’s a wonderful visualisation of these philosophical issues interwoven with a touching love story.

After watching the movie, I wrote the lyrics and music of ‘Stuck in one universe’ in one rush the next morning. I don’t think I ever wrote and finished a track that fast. The video is my ode to ‘Mr. Nobody’ and a salute to Jaco Van Dormael.

Dark Place video launched

Visual artist Romuald ‘Ishoothorizon’ Swieconek made his own interpretation on ‘Dark Place’ from the album ‘Hotel Existence’. He focused on the bipolarity of the track and translated the duality into a dark visualisation of good versus bad, dream versus nightmare,...

It was a pleasure to have my little niece and godchild Marie Dewulf playing the main role.
